Yoga asana practice occurs within a template or framework. There is a familiar and ritualized element to the beginning, middle, and end of each practice. The beginning is grounding, centering, and awakening.
Each day unfolds in a similar way. There is a framework with a beginning, middle, and end. The sequence of events has a familiarity even though each day is unique.
How does your day begin?
Do you allow the time for a morning ritual that grounds, centers, and awakens you for the day to come? Mine is just long enough to feel accessible. I boil water, feed the cat, grind coffee beans, and add the water and grounds to the french press. As the coffee becomes fragrant and delicious I move through a couple minutes of a simple asana flow next to the window with the morning light.
Then I enjoy the coffee.
